Role Responsibilities:

As an Associate Software Engineer at Thomson Reuters, you will:

  • Collaborate with technical leaders, peer SSEs, SEs, Quality Engineers, and Managers to develop, execute, and support testing while analyzing issues.
  • Report issues discovered during development and testing.
  • Work closely with team members such as Tech Leads, Software Developers, and PMs to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and iteration meetings.
  • Write code, fix bugs, and manage development code branches.
  • Detect defects, create informative bug reports, and follow up on bug closure.
  • Manage multiple projects by setting priorities to complete tasks within set timelines.
  • Be proactive in development and issue resolution.

Candidate Requirements:

You are a great fit for this role if you have:

  • A strong understanding of internet protocols and web technologies.
  • Good programming skills, especially in Java and J2EE.
  • The ability to work with software developers and discuss technical issues in detail.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • The ability to understand business requirements and translate them into code.
  • Experience working with relational databases (MS SQL, Oracle).
  • Hands-on experience with Source Control and CD/CI systems such as TFS/Git and Jenkins.
  • Experience working with Web Services and RESTFUL APIs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
